Auditions

Thank you for your interest in scheduling an audition with California Shakespeare Theater. It will be possible to request an audition appointment for our 2012 season beginning October 10, 2011. To request an appointment, please email your headshot and résumé to casting@calshakes.org. In the subject line please write “AEA audition request” or “Non-Equity audition request.” If space is available, a casting assistant will contact you within a few business days via email with a link to our online scheduling system where you will be able to choose your audition time. The audition hotline will also be available beginning October 11 if you have any questions or prefer to submit your audition request via phone.

Auditions for Actors' Equity members will be held on Monday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 1 from 10am–6pm. Non-equity auditions will be held on Friday, November 11 and Sunday, November 13 from 10am–6pm.

Auditions will be held at the Cal Shakes rehearsal hall, 701 Heinz Avenue in Berkeley. Please prepare two contrasting monologues: one Shakespeare verse piece and one by a 19th- or early 20th-century playwright of your choosing. Time for both monologues combined should not exceed three minutes.
