The Master Carpenter is a full-time, seasonal/exempt position in the Scenic Production Department for the California Shakespeare Theater’s Main Stage productions. The Master Carpenter reports to the Assistant Technical Director as well as the Technical Director. The Master Carpenter implements scenic deign projects as designed by the Scenic Designer while communicating with the Assistant Technical Director and Technical Director. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to: carpentry, welding, painting, rigging, truck loading, working with raw wood, plywood, plastics, metals, foam, fasteners, glues, fabrics and a variety specialized materials. Associate Director of Individual Giving
The Associate Director of Individual Giving (AD) is a new leadership position on a team dedicated to securing contributed resources for Cal Shakes’ artistic and education programs, which expand participation in the arts and build more vibrant communities. The AD is primarily responsible for leading staff who are focused on individual giving, and who execute annual fund campaigns, fulfill donor benefits, and produce cultivation and fundraising events. The AD partners with the Development Director to conduct annual and longer-range strategic planning, expand our base of Annual Fund and Legacy Circle donors, manage core department operations, and collaborate with the Marketing Team to create and execute integrated communication strategies. This position is integral to building our relationships with donors at all levels, and to sustaining Cal Shakes’ reputation of integrity, professionalism and success in fundraising. California Shakespeare Theater is looking for a Facilities Technician to join our staff. The position is responsible for the weekend upkeep and maintenance of our stunning outdoor amphitheater, recently constructed support buildings, and renovated grounds. The ideal applicant will have a love for the outdoors; a passion for eco-friendly infrastructure; and be able to effectively maintain the complex needs of our space. You should have two or more years of facilities experience, ideally with a theater background. Triangle Lab Coordinator
The Triangle Lab Coordinator works as part of the community engagement department. The coordinator is responsible for producing and coordinating all public Triangle Lab activities and assisting with promotion and administration for the Lab. The Triangle Lab, Cal Shakes’ community engagement program, invites more people to engage with theater in different ways. Our projects take performances to unusual places, support deep artist/community collaborations, and celebrate the artist in everyone.
