Master Carpenter
The Master Carpenter is a full-time, seasonal/exempt position in the Scenic Production Department for the California Shakespeare Theater’s Main Stage productions. The Master Carpenter reports to the Assistant Technical Director as well as the Technical Director. The Master Carpenter implements scenic deign projects as designed by the Scenic Designer while communicating with the Assistant Technical Director and Technical Director. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to: carpentry, welding, painting, rigging, truck loading, working with raw wood, plywood, plastics, metals, foam, fasteners, glues, fabrics and a variety specialized materials. Master Electrician
The Master Electrician (ME) is a seasonal/exempt position in the Production department, reporting to the Production Manager (PM). The ME is charged primarily with coordinating and planning electrics requirements for the Theater’s Main Stage season. Facilities Technician
California Shakespeare Theater is looking for a Facilities Technician to join our staff. The position is responsible for the weekend upkeep and maintenance of our stunning outdoor amphitheater, recently constructed support buildings, and renovated grounds. The ideal applicant will have a love for the outdoors; a passion for eco-friendly infrastructure; and be able to effectively maintain the complex needs of our space. You should have two or more years of facilities experience, ideally with a theater background. This is a part-time, seasonal, hourly position that lasts from the end of May through mid-October each year. The position reports to the operations manager. House Associate
The House Associate, under the direction of the House Manager, is responsible for the efficient operation of front-of-house activities and the comfort and safety of audiences at our 545-seat outdoor venue. The House Associate works on all of our Main Stage productions, including Student Discovery Matinees. This is a part-time, seasonal position requiring 15-25 hours per week, May through mid-October. Week-night House Manager
The Week-night House Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of all front-of-house activities and the comfort and safety of audiences at our 545-seat outdoor venue. The week-night House Manager is responsible for the efficient staffing and operation of front-of-house operations for the Main Stage season and Student Matinee performances. This position assigns and directs the work of the Assistant House Manager, House Associates, and volunteer ushers and raffle sellers during performances on Tuesday-Thursday evenings. Hours depend on night of the week and length of the performance, typically between 5:30-10:00 pm. This is a part-time, seasonal position requiring 20–35 hours per week, May through October. Patron Services Associates
Know someone who wants to be involved in theater, likes talking to people, and needs a little extra money? We are hiring Patron Services Associates to help us generate funds for our Main Stage productions, community outreach, and arts education programs. Sales or fundraising experience helps, but we can train the right person. Competitive compensation includes base hourly pay plus commission and bonus, with flexible evening and weekend hours available.
